Last week at The Valleys, we finished off our first week of the Care Home Olympics by letting our residents pick their Top 4 favourite creations from our make and create sessions. As well as setting up some creative games to keep our team work at the top notch – week 2 this week is music week so we have lots more fun in store!

Week 1 of The Care Home Olympics…….
Here at The Valleys, our residents got stuck straight in with the first week challenge which was ‘make and create’ which may sound easy……but it was not. The task was to create as many animal, food, or household items as we could out of play-doh.
This activity is all about engaging our bodies and minds, from the get go our standards are set high as we’re not sure how to top one our resident’s burger and fries model – feel free to send us any suggestions for creation!
A Great Day with Animal Therapy…..
Here at The Valleys, our residents recently met Milly the Millipede, Roger the Chameleon, and a variety of other lovely animals and insects as part of our most recent Animal Therapy session.
We were entertained as Roger showed off his impressive hunting skills by catching grasshoppers, and it was the first time we have ever head a tarantula referred as a ‘sweet little thing’!
And So It Begins……
We are very excited to take part in the Care Home Olympics with other homes in our area, 6 weeks of fun & games for everyone!
Join us each week for updates, starting next week with make & create challenges.
A Perfect Performance…..
Here at The Valleys, we enjoyed a little afternoon entertainment in our Ruby Suite recently. It was a lovely afternoon, and everyone got involved with a bit of singing and dancing to a selection of popular songs.
A very enjoyable experience for everyone! The atmosphere was filled with laughter, joy and a lot of smiles. If you’re looking for Residential or Day Care for your family, friends or loved ones, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
A 5 Star Review….
A heartfelt thank you to Marisha for brightening our day and making us very proud of the work we do here at The Valleys. We set out, every day, to provide the best possible care for our residents, and so when we receive great feedback from relatives like Marisha, it tells us we must be doing something right and spurs us on to get even better.
Thank you Marisha for your lovely review!
Staff Awards Ceremony……
We recently held our awards ceremony for staff members at The Valleys, with a little something to make everyone smile. As a team we voted for our colleagues in a variety of different categories and then came together for a small celebration.
These are just a few selections of the awards that were given out!
Happy New Year from everyone here at The Valleys, here are some lovely photos from our celebrations at the home. We had wonderful live music and everyone was singing and dancing along all the way into 2024!
We hope you had as much fun as we did!
Happy New Year!….
Here at The Valleys we would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone – residents, families, staff and friends a very Happy New Year.
Thank you for all your support in 2023 and we hope you enjoy your celebrations.
And The Winner Is…….
The annual gingerbread competition at United Health has now come to a close, and we can announce that Bunkers Hill are the winners! Well done to everyone involved in creating this excellent masterpiece.
And a thank you to everyone that got involved by commenting and casting their vote for who they wanted to win – hopefully you were on the winning side!
