The Valleys
Here at The Valleys we held our monthly church service recently, the weather was lovely and bright with a little bit of rain but that certainly didn’t dampen our spirits.
There were many prayers and lots of hymns sang by our residents, and even though we didn’t have music for one of the hymns, we surprised ourselves with how well we recalled the melody!
All in all a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.
Here at The Valleys, we have been loving the recent good weather, and last Friday some of our residents and staff took advantage of it and held a gardening club session! Preparations are being made and discussions being held about what we are going to do in order to get our garden looking fantastic and ready for the summertime.
We look forward to seeing what happens!
Here at The Valleys our residents recently had a wonderful time as we welcomed Rochelle back to the home, this time for a celebration of the best of British music. With lots of dancing and singing along to each song our residents loved listening to Rochelle’s excellent voice once again.
Everyone had a thoroughly enjoyable time and we hope Rochelle will be back soon with more great entertainment!
Here at The Valleys, we loved welcoming Chris Pottle into our home for some excellent entertainment. We had a fantastic afternoon of classic music choices and wonderful guitar melodies – it was an absolute blast!
We had such a great time and can’t wait for him to return in June for our Fathers Day weekend entertainment.
Here at The Valleys, our manager and the charge of each department/unit undertook their daily huddle in the garden recently, making the most of the morning sunshine!
We introduced these ‘huddles’ a couple of weeks ago as a platform for each unit to communicate updates and information regarding residents changes and different ideas about the home and the lovely residents. The staff who take part in the huddles then pass this information on to all the other staff in the building, getting everyone clued in more efficiently.
A wonderful addition to the day-to-day procedures at the home and some lovely weather making this one that much more enjoyable!
At The Valleys Care Home, we’re excited to welcome the beauty of May with a calendar packed of fun and engaging activities for our residents! We’re looking forward to getting out and about more, enjoying the beautiful courtyard gardens and the increase in temperatures as summer is ever closer.

Here at The Valleys, we recently had a great time with animal therapy and our two newest visitors, a baby chick and a bay running duck. The two of them were absolutely inseparable and had to do everything together!
It was great fun watching them chase each other around the home and our residents loved interacting with them as well as a host of other friendly animals.
Here at The Valleys we’ve got some fantastic new entertainment lined up for the rest of 2024. This week we had a visit from Pirates & Parrots, and what a treat they gave us. There are just no words to describe how much joy our residents felt.
We played lots of games & had hugs and kisses – so a huge thank you to Tony from Pirates & Parrots for the best afternoon, we can’t wait to see you again!
Here at The Valleys, our residents were very happy to see the Easter Bunny making a visit to the home to hand deliver the eggs on Sunday! It put smiles on everyone’s faces and they were all over the moon to receive these delicious sweet treats on a very special day.
