The Valleys
Here at The Valleys we recently had the pleasure of hosting Hannah from The Entertainment Providers as she performed a one person show called Ship Ahoy for our residents, it was truly a journey around the world with some brilliant costumes and even better vocals!
All of our residents had an absolute blast and it was a great way to kickstart our summer!
Well, it’s been a busy couple of weeks for our residents here at The Valleys as they have played host to work experience from 2 local schools, it’s always a pleasure to have the younger generation joining the activities team for a few days and interacting with the residents – they had a great time playing fun and different games whilst also learning new and valuable skills.
They are welcome back any time!
Yesterday brought the first of 3 shows this month here at The Valleys, kicking off with the vocal talents of Emma Kelsey and some wonderful singing, the ideal setting for our residents to get up and dance to.
And dance is exactly what they did, lots of residents rolling back the years on the dance floor and enjoying themselves with the help of some very joyful staff members!
We all had a blast and can’t wait for the next show – here’s to a summer of fun!
The snack trolley has become a much loved 2pm treat for our residents here at The Valleys, providing a variety of tasteful and nutritious treats that can be enjoyed in the gap between dinner & tea – there are plenty of options for all.
The only difficult part is whether to go for something sweet or something savoury!
We’ve got quite a few bird enthusiasts at The Valleys and because we’re on two floors it’s not always been easy to spot which species are sneaking the tasty treats until now! We’ve found ourselves some amazing window boxes installed today. We’ve got 8 boxes in total and you’ll spot them up on some of our second floor windows.
We can’t wait to see who will come and visit!
On rainy days like there were last week we like to make the most of our large and comfortable indoor spaces – the home has several great lounges. It’s always nice for residents to meet up for games and chats – always accompanied by lots of tea and biscuits, obviously!
Well the weather hasn’t exactly been conducive to enjoying the great outdoors recently has it? So every opportunity is being snatched up by our residents to get some fresh air when they can. Here’s some fun photos of them enjoying exercise and games outdoors in the garden last week…when it wasn’t raining!

Our garden is jet washed, the plants are in, the new furniture is out and the birds are fed. We are officially ready for warmer weather. We’ve already taken advantage with our garden party so now it’s time for some garden games and outdoors fun – that’s if the weather would like to help out!
What a coronation party we had here at The Valleys. The great British weather held out just long enough for us to BBQ, eat cake, dance to our hearts content, jump on the bouncy castle and just have a throughly good afternoon celebrating the crowning of our King in style.
We loved being able to host this event for our residents & families – what a day everyone had!
Here at The Valleys excitement is building ahead of the Coronation this coming Saturday. We have been busy decorating the home, and our lovely residents have been only too happy to help. They are really looking forward to watching the ceremony and enjoying the day. We hope you enjoy the day too, and we are sure to have more pictures to share later in the week.
